Based in Swavesey, we offer tailored IT support in Cambridge, Swavesey, St Ives, Ely and Newmarket, although we’re more than happy to quote for services outside this area.

Darren Bucknall, Director

Darren moved to Cambridge back in 1998, where he joined the University of Cambridge Admin Computing Unit after a successful sandwich year there in 1996–97.

Over the next decade, Darren took up various IT roles in the pharmaceutical, wireless broadband, biotech and clinical diagnostic sectors. In this time, vast experience was gained in start-ups to large organisations, finishing as head of IT before setting up IT for Starters.

In 2008, Darren started IT for Starters with an aim to provide local business with friendly, value-led and experienced IT support. IT for Starters has grown from strength to strength and its focus is still to provide a friendly, cost-effective IT service.

Paula is Cambridge born and bred. Before joining IT for Starters in 2019 Paula spent 26 years in retail. Predominately working in management roles including training and store management.

Bringing her experience to IT for Starters, Paula’s role includes Human Resources, Finance Administration, Health & Safety and keeping the team in check!
